Competence Group 1 - CG1
Policy & Advocacy
From 2025 onwards, CG1 operates under the name Policy and Advocacy to better reflect its mission of representing the European drone sector in regulatory and policy debates. This Competence Group focuses on strengthening JEDA’s visibility at the European level and ensuring that the perspectives of professional drone stakeholders are well-represented in discussions with EASA, the European Commission, and national authorities.
Building on its track record, such as the 2024 JEDA Industry Survey, which gathered insights from 300 stakeholders across 25 European countries, CG1 uses real-world data and member input to shape JEDA’s positions and contribute constructively to European drone policy. The group works to:
Increase JEDA’s presence in EU and Member State policy discussions.
Contribute to the formulation of position papers and consultation responses on regulatory matters.
Engage with EASA, the European Commission, and other bodies to ensure harmonised, proportionate, and innovation-friendly regulation.
Act as an internal knowledge-sharing hub for national associations on regulatory developments.
